About Texas Longboarder

This is a site about longboarding, written by a guy in Texas. Texas Longboarder features original material, links to killer stuff on the web, advice for beginners, trick tips, product reviews, and other helpful information. Our goal is to inform and entertain.

Years ago, a friend and I ran a site called texaslongboarder.com . It was a successful site for several years, but we eventually decided it was too confining. We wanted to cover other kinds of skating. Well, these days I rarely ride anything but a longboard, so I thought I’d start TLB back up, at first in the form of this blog.

So at this point it is just me, posting pictures, videos, and stories about longboarding. It is my intention that this site be “about skateboarding on longboards” rather than being “about me”.

Your humble narrator, rolling down a hill.

That being said, here is a little about your humble narrator. I’ve been skateboarding since 1975. In 1999 I suddenly decided that longboards might be interesting, and I’ve hardly stepped on a shortboard since (except for oldschool flatland freestyle, which I also enjoy). I ride longboards pretty much everywhere – ditches, skateparks, hills, flat, street — whatever. My boards range from 36″ in length to 60″. Sometimes I ride a normal shortboard in parks, but they never feel right. I prefer my 36″. 10 years of longboarding has taken its toll. They just feel right.
