A Quick Session Report
Went and skated the usual hill today with my friend Sean. Sean just got a Gravity Kalai complete, from Milehigh Skates. Randal-II 180s and 76mm Earthwing Obomber wheels. Really nice setup. Milehigh did all his usual mods to the trucks. I used my Comet FSM.
Sean got the “normal” flex version of the Kalai. While the Kalai may look like a Loaded Dervish at first glance, it is nothing like it in reality. I have a Dervish – the “hard flex” version. The normal flex Kalai is way stiffer than the hard flex Dervish. The ride is just completely different. Both are great boards, but if you are shopping, don’t make the mistake of thinking that one could be substituted for the other.
Anyway, we were fighting the wind just a bit today, but at the bottom of the hill we added a nice 90 degree left into a steeper drop about 50 yards long, into a 90 degree right turn into a good run-out. Hadn’t done this before due to traffic, but today Sean spotted for me, and I wore some slide gloves in case I needed to make an emergency stop. Should be really fun in the future, especially on days with a nice tail wind.

Theres not much infor at all on the gravity kalai. I just got one, and its a pretty nice board.
Ive hopped on the dervish, with randall 150s and tangs, it had a massive amount of flex.
The gravity is pretty stiff. Not much flex. However, they are both good boards i geuss, its a matter
of what you want, stiff or flexy. The gravity is way heavier though. The dervish is just floppy.
Im glad i got the kalai. Not to into the randall trucks though they do work. It would be an ideal
world, to just own both of these boards. That way, everyone is happy. Thats my report. Own both

nice, i actually ordered my gravity kalai today. i almost went with the landyachtz drop carve because i have only ridden my landyachtz before, I live in stephenville tx and have very few people to skate with. do you guys have days where yall all get together and cruise, i would def be down for that.
