Texas Longboarder

A cool little video of some guy ripping down the street. I love short skate videos. Very cool.

T-Mo was the original Texas Longboarder. He rode his 36″ Schmitt Stix Yardstick back when no one rode longboards. He was also a great guy. I didn’t know him real well, but always enjoyed skating with him.

T-Mo was killed in a motorcycle accident about a year ago. KNON.ORG is doing a tribute night to him. Here is a link to the Facebook Event page. If you don’t use Facebook, I’m copying their details to the bottom of this article.

T-Mo was taken from us a Year ago in a fatal Motorcycle accident. So the good folks at KNON 89.3 / www.knon.org Has decided to do a Tribute Night for our Fallen commarde and friend T-Mo. Please send in your Requests for music that you and T-Mo used to listen to, Got stoned to, Skated to, or just hung out and Jammed to. This event will take place on Tue-Feb. 16th from 10pm – 12am. I expect all of my friends that knew T-Mo to send in Requests and put some sort of song on this event list. If Not you are a Lousy friend and show Mad Dis-Respect to T-Mo. I hope you step up to the plate Texas !

The Loaded Newsletter youtube channel keeps posting excellent stuff. My personal preference theses days is actually for lightly-edited, short videos with no music. I think a lot of people are overdoing it with the editing, trying to make everyday skating look all “epic”. I assume that Adam Colton did the editing on this vid. The editing is great, but the source material is also great. Really nice camera work capturing some smooth and stylish downhill. Great job guys!

A rad downhill run by Dustin Hampton, filmed by Adam Colton. This kind of stuff makes all the shortboarding flip tricks and whatnot seem pretty unsubstantial. Great job, guys.

Here’s a very cool downhill video from the Loaded Boards youtube account, of James Kelly. Minimal editing, which I’ve come to really prefer, and a good song by Radiohead. I wonder how long before the song gets pulled?! What an awesome one-way road. At some points James is fully outrunning the motorcycle that is following him!

Behold! The radicalitude of Possum Kingdom. Who woulda thunk it. Outlaw race coming up down there. Thanks to Baked Boards for posting this up on the youtubes. Checking out that pavement, and the speeds these guys are getting, I’d say leathers might save you a little skin. Or a lot of skin.
